Biography
The Winner Twins, Brittany and Brianna, are international best-selling, multiple-award-winning authors, comic book writers, and Pinnacle award-winning educators. The identical twins were recognized as prodigies by the World’s Council for The Gifted and Talented, and became America’s youngest national best-selling novelists at age thirteen with their first novel, The Strand Prophecy. Now adults, they have released over twenty published works, primarily writing science fiction, fantasy, and guides to writing.
Brittany and Brianna recently wrote the comic based on the song “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll” by the legendary Joan Jett featured in a graphic novel anthology of the same name published by Z2 Comics. Following on the heels of this success, they are collaborating again with Z2 Comics to write a graphic novel for the Grammy award-winning hard rock band Halestorm, titled Hyde Manor.
In partnership with New York Times Bestselling author Todd McCaffrey (The Dragonriders of Pern®, Canaris Rift), they penned the international best-selling fantasy steampunk Twin Soul Series, and historical dark fantasy novel The Magpie’s War.
The twins have been speakers, panelists, and Guests of Honor at a combined total of over 300 conventions, trade shows, organizations, and colleges—including Columbia University, UCLA, and Comic Con International. They teach their award-winning writing methods as staff members at UCLA Extension. Brittany and Brianna’s first 501(c)3 nonprofit, Motivate 2 Learn, focused on promoting youth literacy and educating about learning disabilities and nondivergence. Through Motivate 2 Learn, they spoke in front of over 250,000 students.
Brittany lost most of her vision overnight in 2017, and after much testing, it remained a mystery. In late 2021, Brittany noticed rapid hearing loss. Shortly after, it was discovered that she has a rare condition causing dual sensory loss, which Brianna does not have. Now deaf-blind, being both legally blind and hard of hearing, Brittany, along with her guide dog Davis, is passionate about advocating and educating about dual sensory loss and living with disabilities.
In Fall 2022, with Brittany as CEO, the twins will launch a new 501(c)3 non-profit called Sudden Darkness, which will be the first online resource center for the millions who experience rapid vision loss. Sudden Darkness will provide the support and connections to individuals to get immediate help and resources to ease their transition and heighten their quality of life.
The twins’ hobbies include playing Dungeons and Dragons, reading any book and comic book they can get their hands on, learning and exploring new types of art, and spending time with their rescue animals.
